River Severn

The River Severn path is part of the Severn Way generally flat and a good way of exploring from the town centre towards Bewdley. Walking north, it’s a 4 mile (6.5km) walk into Bewdley with lots to look at including houseboats and riverside cottages, attractive riverscapes and the reward of Bewdley town centre at the end of the walk. Walking or cycling about 2.5miles south on the River Severn will soon bring visitors to Lincomb Lock, one of four large river locks installed in the 1850s to improve navigation. The river on the lower side of the lock is often a tranquil place to rest, but adventurers can explore further along the river path, with Holt Fleet Lock just 3.3 miles away.
